The Hex Coach Screw DIN 571, which has a square or hexagonal head and is sometimes referred to as a lag screw or heavy-duty screw, is one of the strongest non-industrial screws. These screws have a cylindrical shaft with an exterior thread and a point at the tip.
They are generally used to keep together bulky wood, fasten metal to wood, and occasionally, to hold together masonry or concrete. These screws are typically produced using both cold and hot shaping.They can be applied to connect dense wood to other dense wood or to thin metal.
The threaded shaft of the coach screw should be rubbed with hand soap to prevent it from getting trapped in wood. The screws are enormous, measuring one inch in length and one quarter inch in thickness.They also feature coarse threads that don’t extend the whole length of the screw.
Drilling a pilot hole is necessary before drilling these screws into their respective holes. Additionally, lubricate the coach screw before using it while using it with brickwork.
Use the proper size spanner, wrench, or impact socket when tightening or loosening a coach screw to prevent breaking the screw’s head.
